A Puzzle



A puzzle: How do you deal with a vampire when you've run out of Blood Donor cards?

Here are 16 names of hideous monsters from various countries, along with traditional methods for their destruction. Sad to say, our proofreader was eaten by a vlkoslak before she could check these lists, so it is up to you to unscramble them. Answers are hidden elsewhere on this page:

Species:

Method:

a) Stake through the heart
b) Declare that it is blind
c) Place a coin in its mouth and decapitate with an ax
d) Bury it at crossroads
e) Chain it to a grave with wild roses
f) Boil its head in vinegar
g) Cut its head off and burn it
h) Drive a stake through its heart and a nail through its temples
i) Pile stones on its grave
j) Pour boiling oil on it, then drive a nail through its navel
k) Bury it face downwards
l) Put poppy seeds in its grave
m) Remove its heart, cut the heart in two, place garlic in its mouth and drive a nail into its head
n) Cut off its toes and drive a nail through its neck
o) Put lemon in its mouth
p) No known remedy
